Challenge
We had been Preconstruct's customer for years, commissioning their visualisation work from the other side of the table, and they came to us knowing how we judged that market. They approached us at an inflection point. The business had reached a turnover ceiling and could not get past it - Efforts to push through had at times cost momentum rather than adding it, the familiar pattern where activity increases but direction doesn't.
The UK visualisation market was saturated, and in the sectors where they had historically been strongest, familiarity with the product had made competition harder rather than easier. Growth meant new markets and new types of client, which meant taking a step into the unknown.
Approach
Previous business development had been ad hoc, so we designed an approach built around how the business actually works rather than around a generic methodology. That started with research, profiling and strategy - For the existing client base and markets, and for two entirely new targets: construction in the United States, and the UK legal sector.
We then built a bespoke tech stack to run multi-stage outreach across LinkedIn and email, working from target lists assembled around specific job titles and genuine decision-making authority rather than volume.
Outcome
The work produced a measurable uplift in activity, qualified leads and confirmed commissions - More than twenty firm leads in the first three months and six new commissions to date. Beyond the immediate pipeline, it established a foothold in the United States, a market where the product is still unfamiliar and the opportunity correspondingly larger. The infrastructure and the target lists remain in the business, so the momentum does not depend on us being there.
