CAST started during the pandemic and grew fast - To more than 120 staff and over £70 million turnover. No business growing at that rate can hold all of the specific expertise it needs at the moment it needs it; the capability required to sustain the pace arrives later than the growth itself. 

CAST needed that gap covered without slowing down to build a function from scratch.

We supplement the business rather than replace any part of it, stepping in as and when particular expertise is required. That began with maturity modelling and business strategy - Establishing where the work-winning function actually stood before deciding what to change, rather than assuming. From there the engagement widened into ten individual pieces of work (and counting): public and private bids, individual schemes and framework submissions, and bespoke training designed around the business and the specific people working within it. 

Because the relationship has run across three years, each piece of work starts from real knowledge of how CAST operates rather than from a fresh briefing.

The engagement is ongoing, which is the clearest result we can point to - Ten projects delivered since 2023, with the working relationship strong enough that we operate on established trust and a shared way of working. More than ten staff have been through a bespoke training programme, building capability that stays inside the business. 

Most recently we have helped CAST secure framework positions in some of the most demanding procurements in the market, including strategic advice and bid writing on some of the largest public frameworks arriving in 2026.
